The airport opened in 1932 as a private company by Abbott L. Johnson II, Edmund Ball and Frank Ball.
The airport covers 963 acres and is located 3 miles northwest of Muncie.
The airport has an average of 100 aircraft operations per day.
There are 32 single, multi and jet engine aircraft based at the field.
